Los Angeles County
The Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health exists to HELP you and your family and friends. NAMI LA
Learn what NAMI LA can do for you to help you cope with your mentally ill relative. People who come to NAMI meetings learn how to create a safe environment for themselves and their ill relative. This improves the prognosis for the ill relative. Come and hear the wisdom of other family members in your shoes. Fight Stigma and get the help you deserve!
National Mental Health Association of Greater Los Angeles
The National Mental Health Association of Greater Los Angeles (MHA) works to ensure that people with mental illness reach their rightful place as participating, productive members of our community. MHA's four cornerstones are to advocate for quality care for people with mental illness, demonstrate services models that help people recover to self-reliant lives, work with professionals through training and replicating the "integrated services" model, and educate about mental illness to increase public awareness and access to care. The National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, NAMI , works to achieve equitable services and treatment for more than 15 million Americans living with severe mental illnesses and their families. Hundreds of thousands of volunteers participate in more than one thousand local affiliates and fifty state organizations to provide education and support, combat stigma, support increased funding for research, and advocate for adequate health insurance, housing, rehabilitation, and jobs for people with mental illnesses and their families.
